I’m Cathy.  I met the man who would become my husband as a sophomore in college at 19.  Ken and I were married for over 34 years when he died in late winter 2023 from a rare cancer of the bile ducts for which he received treatment for just over four years post-diagnosis.  The loss and the hope inherent while we lived with this illness was the start of the grief I now process alone as a widow, although with more loss and less hope.

My goal is to both help others who are walking a similar path as well as be a source of understanding for those who support them. From sharing my own coping mechanisms to advice on caring for a bereaved loved one to reflecting on how I am navigating this strange new life,  I hope we can all start to heal together.
